The Sports Council will present a motion proposing the next plenary session of the deceased to name a sports infrastructure of the municipality for their great contribution to sport
The councilman of Deportes, José Antonio Valverde Queen, offers to all clubs, associations and local athletes in general, to observe one minute's silence as a sign of mourning and remembrance to the figure of honor recently deceased president of the International Olympic Committee (CIO), Juan Antonio Samaranch, at 89 years of age.

The mayor expressed his condolences to the family and the sporting world in general, as "the sport will be remembered as the founder of modern Olympic movement, but above all as the man who opened the Games to the professionalism and marketing almost without limits."
President Samaranch was the architect of the Olympic Games in the modern era, and the strengthening and unity of Olympic Movement are the work of exceptional talent and vision, as stated by the mayor, who will leave a legacy that will endure for many years.
Among many other things, Samaranch will be remembered for defending women's representation in the IOC, having achieved the abolition of amateurism in the Olympics, having improved the quality of the Games and an increasing number of countries, have improved the financial health of the Olympic Movement.
On the other hand, the municipal official of Sports has announced that the municipal government will file a motion proposing the next plenary session of the deceased to name a sports infrastructure of the municipality for their great contribution to the world of sport.
