President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, and the directors of Company, Economics and Agriculture totanero visit exhibitors at the International Fair "Fruit Logistica" (05/02/2010)

The President of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, Ramón Luis Valcárcel Siso, along with the Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, the Minister of Enterprise and Research, Salvador Marín, and the Minister of Economy and Finance, Inmaculada García, visited the totanero exhibitor at the International Fair "Fruit Logistica" in Berlin, taking place these days in the German capital.

The mayors of Agriculture and Water, John Pagan, and Industry, José Antonio Valverde Reina, have made known to the President the meetings with entrepreneurs, agribusiness associations, and prospective investors in the large regional project that have been out during these days.

The mayor pointed out that the exhibitor totanero integrated into the stand of the Institute of Development in the Region of Murcia, is providing information to all entrepreneurs and business associations of the characteristics of which will be the international benchmark for the sector food.

What is the City's Mediterranean Food, CIAM?

CIAM, as recalled by the council of Industry, is a project that is reflected in the Strategic Plan "Growing Totana 2013" and will contribute directly and decisively for the future backbone of the municipality and county in the area and Region of Murcia.

The pillars of the Food City project are structured in the installation of a Special Industrial Park, construction of a logistics center and the development of the Campus Food, which will give great value to the infrastructure by introducing university research project.

Specialized Industrial Park would be used to start up businesses in the productive sectors of food in general, auxiliary enterprises and service agencies and public institutions and related private sector.

Also, another part of the CIAM, the Logistics Centre would be erected in a service-based infrastructure and common platform for companies setting up in this industrial park.

However, as explained by the mayor of Industry, the complement of the Intermodal Freight Station would enable better haulage firms in the Industrial Park.

In addition, the Campus Food, which will be launched by the San Antonio Catholic University, is an initiative towards teaching and research, where university ofertaría vocational training and other training offered by masters, and doctoral theses.

Also envisage a section for applied science and advanced technology center where highlight a food and an institute of food science and a business incubator that would collect the concerns of students, teachers, researchers and entrepreneurs, among others.
