La Semana Santa de Totana a year recognizes the work of people who work and collaborate in the greatness of our Easter and our city.
On Friday 15 January at a meeting in the Chapter House were released the names of the Nazarene in Honor of the Holy Week of 2010 and the person responsible for delivering the opening speech.
In the meeting of the Illustrious Cabildo Processions Higher Totana, the 15th of January, the President of the Illustrious Cabildo, D.
Juan María López Zamarreño announced to the presidents of fraternities and guilds, and a large number of attendees, the name of the town crier of Totana Easter 2009, an honor that went to the person:
Ms. MARIA MARTÃNEZ MARTÃNEZ
Totanera Nazarene belonging to the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Sorrows, has three children and lives in Murcia, although it has never stopped visiting his hometown.
He is currently Professor of Medieval History at the University of Murcia, which since 1984 has developed its teaching and research.
He has published fifteen books on various subjects of medieval history, as well as over sixty articles in various journals of national and international.
He has also taught doctoral courses and conferences in various Spanish and European universities.
His research highlights the aforementioned populations of Aledo and Totana centuries XIII, XIV, XV and XVI.
He has also collaborated with the magazine Semana Santa with the articles "The background processional: The Corpus in the Middle Ages" and "The participation of women in Totana Easter."

Linked from childhood to the Brotherhood of The Kiss of Judas and Jesus Pierced, which was founded in the sixties of last century by his family, grandfather, father and uncles were involved since childhood in working condition, where until now has held various positions in the various directives that the Brotherhood has had over the years.
Besides his work in the Brotherhood, the largest linkage Juan Martinez with Easter Totana, is through one of its most emblematic and meaningful, as our speakers.
His great skill and dexterity in playing such a peculiar instrument of love and affection that shows in everything related to its development, make it an indispensable person in our actions and processions.
