The councilman of Social Welfare, Juan Carrion, Vice Chancellor of University Extension of the Catholic University San Antonio (UCAM), Antonio Alcaraz, the representative of the Directorate General of Immigration, Antonio García Nieto, and project coordinator, Juana Maria Morillas, yesterday closed the III Regional Conference on Nutrition Education for immigrants, through which it was determined that more than 50 people get the food handler card.
As the mayor said Social Welfare, this training activity is intended to address the practical challenge of protecting and promoting health, employment and social integration of immigrants.
Also, the mayor stressed the commitment that the City of Totana is with immigrants who reside in Totana to promote their full integration into society totanera.
The sessions were developed for six consecutive days, and allowed by the exam to obtain the food handler card, which is essential for access to the workplace of the hotel and restaurant.
During the awarding of diplomas and cards food handler, the project coordinator, Juana Maria Morillas, explained that the sessions have been delivered by professionals from the Universidad Catolica San Antonio, UCAM, and have received funding from the Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Migration.
For its part, the Vice Chancellor of University Extension of the UCAM encouraged policy-makers to develop future projects between Totana and the Summer University and University Campus in the municipality.
The Department of Social Welfare, through its Municipal Program Integration of Immigrants, has supported the organization of this conference disseminating them among the group of immigrants from the town, encouraging enrollment in them and by providing the premises of the Centre Social Camilleri Tirol.
