The mayor and members of the government team held a working meeting with representatives of the neighborhood councils of San Francisco, El Parral and The Ramblica (21/05/2009)

The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, Councillor for Planning and Sustainable Development, María José Bedia, and Councilman and Comprehensive Maintenance Services of the City, Sergio Lopez, among other members of the government team held a working session yesterday representatives of Neighborhood Councils of San Francisco, El Parral and The Ramblica, respectively.

During the meeting, policy makers informed of the projects that have been made in the neighborhoods during the two year term.

Specifically, the mayor of Planning and Sustainable Development will explain how discourse works in the new library and study room is to be erected next to the Point of Care for Children "Pepita López Gandía.

The building, whose project has an investment of 601,589 euros and will be funded through the Local Investment Fund, has an area of 418 meters and is projected on two floors.

It also took stock of the works that have taken place in the neighborhoods highlighting the Point of Care for Children, whose extension is already working for a total of 130 children to receive appropriate training for their age.

During the workshop, to be carried out continuously to see first hand the problems of the neighbors and let them know the works and services to be launched in their areas, also reported the construction of new dual-line school to be built in the resort of La Ramblica, to replace the current school of "The Cross."

On the other hand, Martínez Andreo said that the drafting of the draft Youth Resource Centre, a young space to house the offices of the Department of Youth and adjacent to the building spaces and green areas will be dedicated to youth.

In addition, policy-makers ahead of the neighbors that are already working on the study of a new fair, so that the space now occupied by the current green zone will be located.

In this regard, the mayor informed of new works that will be developed in 2010.

The locals also asked the Selectmen to seek, Iberdrola the burial of a transformer that is located near the Social Centre.

As in all the meetings that the government team is keeping with the various groups and residents of the neighborhoods, the mayor said all lines of assistance being provided from City Hall.

In this sense, Martínez Andreo recalled that the City is making an economic real effort to implement the aid and, despite the government team has been leading these actions alone are already benefiting totaneros.

Specifically, Martínez Andreo reported, among other things, direct payments Support Service Standing (SEAPA), family and self, the new scale for public works contracts, the number of local companies and new employees who will generate the E Plan; guarantee fund for the establishment of new enterprises in the industrial and support for young people in acquiring their first home, among other measures.
