The mayor announced that work on the Local Investment Fund, which have generated more than EUR 1,143,000 improvements, will employ 522 people and benefit (30/04/2009)

In addition, beneficiaries of the Standing Support Service will be the first hired by companies to carry out works that will generate 110 new jobs

The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, announced this morning, after holding a meeting with entrepreneurs that is going to develop the great works included in the Local Investment Fund, which for the achievement of the works are to be used to 522 people, of which 110 will be hired as new employees.

Martínez Andreo, explained that thanks to good management carried out by the Department of Planficiación and Sustainable Development and the Comprehensive Maintenance Services and the City, has achieved the procurement of works with great benefits for the municipality Totana.

Thus, as reported by the mayor, the 5,086,996 euros of the total of 21 projects, have raised a total of 1,143,036 euros for economic improvement, money that will lead and promote the town of Totana.

In this sense, the municipal councilor has indicated that companies bidding works have also been committed to the City Council to support cultural activities, sports and social.

With these improvements, in the words of Martínez Andreo, addition of new hires and job creation, are all residents of the village which benefits from the activities to be supported by these companies through the efforts of the government team.

During the meeting, which also attended by council members Planficiación and Sustainable Development and Comprehensive Maintenance Services and the City, employers are committed to meet the deadlines that the National Government established in the provisions of Decree Law

As for the hiring of people working in the works, Martínez Andreo explained that they have far exceeded the expectations of the Government Commission that measured in 348 persons, which were needed to develop the 21 projects.

In total, it will employ 522 people, of which 110 are new recruits.

Employees come from the Support Service Standing

Of all the people working on projects, as reported by the mayor, over 40 percent of them will be new recruits.

To this end, the City signed an agreement with the companies hired people to come from the Standing Support Service (SEAPA).

These people, who are in emergency situation by not having a job and start receiving assistance from the City Council with a value of almost $ 1,000 per family, will be the first to be hired by these companies.

In addition, Martínez Andreo been reported to be a total of 25 companies from Totana which these works will benefit by contracting out work or purchase of material, as businesses have committed to work directly with businesses and establishments the municipality.

Also, the mayor explained that the works have been awarded by competition, as reflected in the law, and that is not true that no company has benefited from Totana contraction, "and that will be 25 companies that provide to carry out the works and also one pays taxes in the City totanero, for what is considered local business. "
