The Department of Education has launched the "Campaign Against Truancy Awareness 2008/2009", through the Municipal Service of Prevention and Control of truancy, to raise awareness and sensitize all youth in the municipality on importance of an education and to inform them about the consequences of the problem of absenteeism in both the short and long term.
The Councillor for Education, Trini Cayuela, has reported that this campaign began on March 2 and runs until April 30, and includes several activities aimed at both primary and secondary levels education.
These activities are organized "Workshops of stories for all levels Primary, where the mascot of the Service, the" Owl Hector "teach the younger about the importance of attending class every day.
Also be conducted awareness-raising talks, under the slogan "Do not leave your empty chair aimed at 6 year of primary and 1 and 2, and will be handed pens / calendar to all students participating in these talks, which contain information on truancy, why is it important to attend class, outlets are at the end of compulsory secondary positive messages about the need for compulsory education, and information on where to target students and their families for counseling.
Finally, we have organized a competition "comics" for 1 st and 2 nd High School.
The delivery of the work will be from 2 to 31 March.
In this contest will participate in pairs and students must present a comic card or DINA DINA-4-3 which shows the problem of absenteeism, consequences, social, etc.
Will award a first prize of 150 Euros to the winning couple and a second prize of 100 euros for the couple who is in second position.
The artistic technique is free and works shall be in the Municipal Service of Prevention and Control Truancy located at Calle Santiago No. 1 in the morning from 9 to 12 to Tuesday afternoons from 5 to 8 pm.
