The City receives several grants from the Directorate General of Trade and Crafts for a total of 25,170 euros (07/03/2009)

The Department of Commerce, Handicrafts and Markets has received several grants from the Directorate General of Trade and Crafts for a total of 25,170 euros, as reported by the council in the industry, Isabel Maria Sanchez, who will go to the installation of fire hydrants in Avenida Rambla de La Santa, the reform of the market hall and the installation of the artisan market in the place La Santa.

On the one hand, the Consistory will receive a total of 9,383 euros from 15,990 euros to the project totals of work of installation of water taps to be used in the case where an emergency occurs, to improve the area where the weekly market is located, Avenida Rambla de La Santa, with the installation of various hydrants, standpipes, for emergency vehicles.

This action, together with the recent location of more than ten points of attachment of electricity for power stations that need it, allows a better conditioning of the premises where the weekly market is located.

On the other hand, the Hall has received a grant of 4,644 euros to finance part of the reform on the ground floor of Market Square in order to promote local business sector, as reported by the councilman of Commerce, María Isabel Sánchez.

Currently, the building of the Market Square, which is divided into three floors, is a complete makeover as these units will house one hand, the local police headquarters and on the other hand, trading posts

Thus, the councilman of Commerce, explained that the existing commercial stations will be located in the basement while police units will occupy the top two floors.

On the ground floor will house the public service and the main offices of the Chief, patrol and the three cells, and on the top floor will be installed on other police units, which correspond to the administrative area, changing rooms and toilets.

Finally, the Directorate General of Crafts and Trade of the Autonomous Community financed with the amount of 11,142 euros for the implementation of the project artisan market near the shrine of La Santa, which will be installed one Sunday a month, with order to encourage tourist visits to this emblematic place at a time to strengthen and promote local crafts, amounting in total to almost 15,000 euros.

As explained Councilwoman Crafts, Isabel Sanchez Ruiz, this market is intended to Totana artisans display their work to visitors.

This will, according to the mayor commented that the master craftsmen can sell their products directly to visitors who come to the market, which will be decorated with demonstrations of crafts are made by ourselves and local associations.
