The works of the second phase of the City Depot Espuña "which includes the construction of two paddle tennis courts and a handicapped access ramp, installation of street lighting, paving of the Annexes and gardening, Among other actions, have already begun and will be completed in less than three months.

The councilman of Deportes, José Antonio Valverde Queen this morning visited the sports complex where they already are seeing the light of earlier work and the adequacy of adjacent areas to the locker room with the construction of sidewalks.

Queen Valverde explained that the whole environment of the area of the 12 costumes are cobblestone paving and putting sidewalks where gardeners are also installed to beautify the sports space.

The mayor has indicated that a work that the Department is of great importance is the disabled access ramp that is located next to the platform of the locker room to improve the accessibility of the athletes who, until now, could not climb the sports from that point.

The mayor pointed out that another of the actions envisaged in this second phase of construction is the completion of the electrical system throughout the sports complex so that from any point can have a wall light and so stop using the generators that supply were giving up now.

Moreover, as underlined by the Councillor for Sports, is to proceed with the paving of the pedestrian routes inside the Sports City and will be carried out works of adaptation of the network of storm , sidewalks and landscaping.

According to Valverde Reina said the intention of the City Council since 2007, when they were made fully operational the tennis courts and football fields, has been to provide the service for clubs used the facilities of the City sport, and that these works are completed the beautification of the complex.

With the construction of two paddle courts, the first of governance, will be a new service to citizens, which will be expanded once it edify the other four that are included in the project.

Valverde Queen thanked the efforts being made by the developer "The SL Canvas Strip" with which the Council signed the agreement for the construction of the Sports City, as the current economic situation is not the most fruitful.

The mayor pointed out that with this agreement "Totana has gained 150,000 square feet for sports facilities and well equipped as we can see."

In this regard, he pointed out that the company has already invested 7 or 8 million euros in the Sports City.

Sports City currently has two football fields with artificial turf, four tennis courts of beaten earth, 12 wardrobes and, according to advance the Councillor for Sports, the next steps will aim to build the football stadium, pavilion and a water space for leisure.
