The next workshop on the prevention of violence: "Learn to change the look", to be conducted in various associations, will take place on November 13 (05/11/2008)

Workshops on prevention of gender violence "Knowing to change the look" promoted by the Institute of Women of the Region of Murcia and the Welfare of the CAM in collaboration with the Department of Women and Equal Opportunities of the City of Totana have already begun teaching in the various associations that have requested it.

The first workshop began in the afternoon yesterday on the premises of the Association of housewives "The Three Hail Marys" of Totana, and the next workshop, which was requested by the Association Mifito will take place on Thursday November 13 from 18:30 hours in the Special Employment Centre Mifito.

And then there will be another workshop on 24 November in the audiovisual room of the Socio-Cultural Center "Jail" with hours from 17:00 to 20:30, a workshop which is open to all persons who wish to attend.

These workshops are sponsored by the Institute of Women of the Region of Murcia and the Welfare of the CAM, and are intended to encourage reflection on gender roles and stereotypes and their influence in different spheres of life of women, as well as developing skills to identify risk indicators and warning against violence.

This training program on prevention of gender violence is directed at women's associations, and other social groups, so we want to have the participation of associations to organize these workshops adapted to the times of each association.

Are free, with a duration of one session of two hours taught by two professionals in morning or afternoon, with groups of no more than 30 people.

From the Department of Women was notified that any association of municipalities interested in providing these workshops can apply throughout this year in the Department of Women's Rights and Equal Opportunity, located at Calle Pilar, 1 to 1 º -3 ª door, phone: 968 423 386, or mcgarcia@ayto-totana.net, indicating the association data, place, time and day you can attend the workshop.

For his part, Councillor for Women's Rights and Equal Opportunities, Josefa María Sánchez, welcomes the participation of the associations that have requested such workshops as this is an issue that all people should be sensitized and informed.
