The Full Council of Totana approved yesterday, with votes for the Municipal People's Party and the Socialist Party and United Left + Greens against the change in the way of care management services and maintenance of gardens, parks, and green areas of the municipality.
The Corporation gave the green light to the proposed indirect management of the service through some of the modalities set out in the public sector contracts.
The mayor and Comprehensive Maintenance Services of the City, Sergio Lopez, told the Corporation that the management of the services provided by the City Council concerning the care and maintenance of gardens, parks and municipal parks will significantly improve and provide a service to the citizen higher quality, with the change in the form of indirect management through a management contract of public service.
In this regard, the council said that this type of management is not jeopardize the jobs that currently make gardening service, as they will to carry out their work in the company being awarded the service and said he will remain working conditions and ensure the rights of workers.
In the proposal submitted to the plenary by the Department of City Facility Management explained that this method is most suitable from the point of view of the principle of efficiency in public spending.
In this sense, the mayor told members of the corporation that currently exist in the town over a hundred green areas in which 12 people work daily and the Consistory expected to increase by over 20 percent, so Lopez said that "with these workers is difficult to give an optimal service for cleaning and maintenance."
