The Municipal spokesperson IU + Greens in the city of Totana.
has submitted the following letter to the Mayor:
Dear Mr. Mayor:
Having received summons to attend the Board of Spokesmen of the City of Totana, which will be held on Monday, September 22, I have to express it as follows:
• It is very strange that a body has no administrative powers in the Corporation, but a political importance that we be given the current legislature, had not met in almost 11 months now, the heat of propaganda campaigns, be convened study two topics that are of utmost importance, but for the Municipal Group of IU + Greens, we qualify, in writing.
· From taking actual possession of the Corporation and, before his speech to hand out to reach points of contact between the groups and institutions to normalize relations, we have always said the same provision, respecting the resolutions adopted at Board and Plenary Speakers .
· Agreed to focus the political debate and control the deteriorating relations and adhere, to date our commitments.
What we have never agreed, and we will, is to abdicate our responsibilities as the opposition, political criticism or make use of our constitutional right to freedom of expression in the context of political debate.
• If someone has broken these basic agreements, not us.
Full · Carry out of the agenda and without consultation with opposition groups, rupture of measures that had been agreed at Board or deny Speakers include our motions on the agenda of the plenary, only has a political responsibility and that is you.
Do not we conceive, in a democratic state in the Plenary of the Corporation, in a systematic way, or stop booing, insults to the council of the Opposition when in the use of the word, to his evident satisfaction.
· For our part, pending a resumption of the situation to the state where we were before June 2007 and stop the insults and interruptions in the plenary, we will not meet with a Mayor who has broken unilaterally by the commitments made all.
• I want to make clear that we are willing to amend the agreements of the beginning of the period and trim as necessary, given the economic crisis facing our people and the delicate situation of the municipal coffers.
But always, through dialogue, understanding and reason.
We will not accept or threats, or blackmail.
• In regard to measures to tackle the economic crisis, we reiterate our readiness to participate and discuss, in municipal bodies.
Ie, Advisory Committees and plenary sessions.
· You remember, at this point, the amendments proposed by us to the Revitalization Plan, which were rejected outright, with 13 votes of the Municipal Group.
· In the same way, filed a motion on the Strategic Plan, which was also rejected, for no reason and looked positive proposals to anticipate the consequences of the crisis.
• The Finance Plan itself, was our rejection, insufficient measures were considered, as is being demonstrated in light of the results.
· Our group is willing to participate and take responsibility in the debate, searching for points of agreement and no propaganda campaigns, which cost much money and provide any results, in view of the current situation.
Do not understand the agreement and the submission of one another, by many votes majority and you are granted by the polls.
In a democracy, you can find the consensus or majority should take responsibility for the power that has given people at the polls and not avoid it, making excuses if results are not good.
• Our proposals will be in the debate, when you convene the plenary and we are willing to dialogue, as we always have been, but without renouncing our principles, criteria and opinions.
To conclude, I ask excuse my attendance or my group to the meeting of the Board of Spokesmen convened, as you do not reset the agreements, unilaterally, without any reason failed.
Totana, September 19, 2008.
Pedro Martínez Gómez.
