The city will pay tribute to Alfonso Murcia, after local police recently deceased (16/09/2008)

The City Council of Totana pay tribute after the local police, Alfonso Murcia, who died in a tragic accident on July 31, by calling his name the new premises of the local police.

The Municipal Corporation will discuss this proposal at the next Plenary Hall for the month of September.

This is a tribute to the career of police officer Local de Totana who died in a motorcycle accident on July 31 when he moved from his residence, located in the hamlet of El Paretón, to his job in the headquarters of the municipality.

Alfonso Murcia Cape was part of the staff of the local police since October 1998 when he took office as probationer.

In April 1999, he assumed the officer was run and Cape from the September 30, 2005.

Following the tragic event, the City Council declared three days of official mourning to honor the good work that had developed to cash in the municipality.

Now, the Municipal Corporation will be responsible for putting the name of the agent to the new Local Police stations being built on the roof of the Market Square, on Calle del Pilar.

Renovations began in August and is expected early this year the players are working on a new site.

The Consistory will receive a grant from the Autonomous Region, amounting to 300,000 euros for the construction of this new building, whose total cost will amount to 514,680 euros.

With this building will obviate the lack of space, as the staff has grown by over 50 percent, as has moved from 24 to 57 agents.

The existing trading posts in the Market Square will be located in the basement while police units will occupy the top two floors.

At the low will move the public service, the main offices of the Headquarters and the three cells.

On the top floor will be installed on other police units, which correspond to the administrative area, changing rooms and toilets.

The police agencies will occupy an area of 600 square feet compared to 200 currently available in the House of Contributions.

Access to public attention to the police in its future location will be made by Pilar Street, not Avenue Rambla de La Santa.

Also improve user accessibility to the building with the installation of an elevator inside.
