Occupational Classroom students recently visited the facilities of the Plataforma Solar de Almeria, continuing the planning for this year 2007/2008 in order to inform students in a practical manner, issues related to renewable energy such as thermal storage, a desalination plant, a solar oven for heat treatment of materials, a weather station, solar panels ..
among others.
First, the students envisioned an educational video that explained the objectives of the Solar Platform and the activities therein.
This activity, which was widely accepted by students, had a guide who was showing all the facilities of the plant and explaining its operation.
They also visited a building that manages itself with solar energy, without using electricity.
This platform is dedicated to solar research of different prototypes of solar panels, with pioneering projects in Europe as well as research materials for construction.
After that departure, the students put into practice the knowledge acquired to build a solar cooker on the premises of occupational class, under the supervision and technical guidance of the teacher workshop.
