The Department of Social Welfare and Health of the City of Totana propose to the plenary of the Corporation to express the support and collaboration with institutions Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue in the development of actions that have an impact on improving the quality of life of people with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue as well as continued actions to be undertaken for people with these diseases.

Also, through this proposal will also be invited to relevant entities to perform actions that are considered necessary to improve the quality of life of people with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue and which are treated in a social pact.

The mayor of Health, Trini Cayuela, recalled that the symptomatology of both diseases a decisive influence on the patient himself and his personal development, on maintaining family relationships, social and capacity for work.

As for the general problem of the disease, patients and relatives are among others, the lack of full recognition by the public system, problems of information / understanding / respect, problems of training / awareness resources / objectification, access difficulties and maintenance of normal work and reluctance to create formulas for reemployment, difficulties in the recognition of disability and disability benefits, and lack of public and private research on the disease.

Similarly, the Social Welfare mayor, recalled that last May 12 celebrating the World Day of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue, where several associations and organizations of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue (Mazarron, Totana, Cartagena, Murcia, etc. .) joined to demand the adoption of measures that represent a significant advance in research, treatment and disease recognition.

Thus, revealed that an association has Totana Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue, association with which the City Council has been working annually through the establishment of cooperation agreements that allow the implementation of actions that contribute to improved quality of life for people with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue.
