Primary school students can learn about the history, performance and dependencies of the Consistory hand "Know Your City" (15/01/2016)

The Department of Education has offered this school year, in an organized and regular basis, the program "Know Your City", an initiative that aims to provide schools in Totana, in its schedule of extracurricular activities, the possibility that primary school students to visit the main town hall.

The visits will take place from next February;

and they will be assisted and guided by municipal technicians, so that during the same children may know the various departments of the City Council, the main services and history.

The technicians will accompany the students during their visit to the hall of the Municipal Archives, the City and other agencies of interest;

where they will meet the functioning of the local administration and the work done there as well as other stories of interest.

School of 4th, 5th and 6th of Primary Education will know first hand the development of the full and the work being done by the members of the Municipal Corporation, given that the visit will conclude with a reception the mayor in his office.

The visits will take place, also accompanied by teachers on Fridays during the school year, as of 12:30 hours and will last approximately an hour.

To participate in this activity will be necessary to make an appointment through the Department of Education (968/41 81 51, extension 0238).

The objective of the program "Know Your City" it is to bring school to the municipal institution and is suitable for students who are working contained in the Social Sciences, and learning-oriented and review of concepts such as the municipality, municipalities, elections and municipal elections, democracy and political parties, the work of councilors and mayor, among others.

The claim is that participants can also identify and understand the concept of location and different types out there, differentiate and identify different types of neighborhoods and streets elements;

know the structure and functioning of the local government and the services it provides and develop habits of public awareness relating to road traffic, such as pedestrians and as users of transport and other services.

The Department has scheduled as levels for other activities this course and Primary Education as those related to the public library, site visits argárico "La Bastida" and the Museum of the local police, traffic education (in collaboration with the Department of Public Safety and Traffic), "Civil Protection in your school" Drug Prevention Workshop, among others.
