The City Council will ask the National Government to suspend and revoke the application of the Act Streamlining and Sustainability of Local Administration (05/11/2015)

Totana City Council agreed at its last plenary session in October, request the National Government to suspend and revoke permanently the implementation of the Act Streamlining and Sustainability of Local Government.

The council approved unanimously two of the three agreements on the joint motion of the PSOE, IU and Earn Totana-C's on the immediate and subsequent repeal of the Act Streamlining and Sustainability of Local Administration suspension.

Thus, it was agreed unanimously to urge the National Government to suspend the application of the Act;

and also with the votes of the PSOE, IU and Earn Totana-C'sy against the PP, immediately repeal this state standard.

Even after many negotiations with both the FEMP, as all political parties, associations and groups of citizens, the Government approved in December 2013 the Act Streamlining and Sustainability of Local Government, maintaining cutting municipal powers and not addressing the problem of autonomy and local finance.

The Consistory opposes this Act and, therefore, to its current form, considering that in addition to "an attack on the municipal autonomy enshrined in Article 140 of the Constitution" is also an attack on the foundations of democracy .

According to local sources, this standard requires a deep competence and structural change in the size of local authorities towards a minimalist reinterpretation of local autonomy, suppresses public proximity services that are necessary and essential for citizenship, and has a negative effect on the public and the conditions of his personal use.

Upon approval over 3,000 Spanish municipalities of all political signs presented an appeal of unconstitutionality before the Constitutional Court against this law.

The Constitutional Court has already declared admissible the Remedy, which is good news for municipal issues, citizenship, and for all public employees.

To this is added the lack of clarity regarding the preparation of the 2016 municipal budget to be unclear what services and what would not pass from one to the other administrations, with the obvious risk that they may lose benefits currently being very well managed by municipalities or not being guaranteed ownership or funding.

In view of these considerations and the lack of legislative developments and clarify the next immediate future, CCOO insists that the central executive should immediately withdraw this bill and prevent citizens, mayors and assembly workers in the local government that support the brutal cuts to then have to address the difficult cure.
