The Municipal People urged, at the October plenary session to the Mayor and his administration to undertake a local consultation and subsequent replacement of the names of streets and public spaces, be positive consultation by consensus among the different groups and neighbors.
On September 30 in celebration of the ordinary session of the month, one of the motions filed by the group went on IU Totana Win "Agreement to implement the Law of Historical Memory, eliminating spaces and names of thoroughfares to extol people linked to the dictatorship and repression of fundamental rights. "
The popular local group is against proceeding with the substitution of the names of streets and public spaces, primarily for the harm it will bring residents of the municipality on this agreement, in particular the neighbors who are settled in these streets, in addition to considering further injury on businesses, institutions and companies that are in these streets because they involve an economic cost changing everything related to the issue of marketing, documentation, etc.
From the Popular Party, showing our displeasure for the implementation of this act, we want through this motion stay enforcement of such agreements to be appropriate consensus among different groups and neighbors to undertake a local consultation and subsequent replacement of the street names, to be positive consultation.
