The mayor, Juan José Canovas, and the Councillor for Economic Development, Training and Employment, Antonio Camacho, recently delivered the diplomas to the course of "Technician animation elderly and disabled" has been held at the Centre for Local Development Totana.
The course was held between September 21 and October 6, in collaboration with the State Association of Persons and Caregivers in Rural Areas "Solidarity".
With a total of 40 hours and funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment and the European Social Fund, along with the collaboration of COAG Murcia.
In the same 16 students participated, who have been trained in technical and programming resources, organization and implementation of recreational, educational and rehabilitative activities for seniors.
The end result has been the learning activities, intervention techniques, group dynamics and support strategies tailored to older people, enabling them to develop these activities and work as entertainers in nursing homes, be leaders in nursing homes or clubs and participate in organized trips for seniors.
In his closing remarks, the municipal authorities have stressed the commitment of the municipal corporation to continue working in employment generation, considering training as essential for achieving this goal pillar.
They have also explained that for this reason they will continue offering various courses related to the care of elderly and dependent persons, a sector considered a new source of employment ".
