The sister cities of Totana and Merida held next Sunday, October 11 (19:00) in the hall of the Consistory totanero an institutional event in the context of the pilgrimage organized by the Association of the Holy Virgin and Martyr Eulalia capital of Extremadura Murcia town.
This is part of the trip twinning performed and attended by representatives of the totanera Corporation and members of organizations that promote the eulaliense worship at both locations, in this case, the Holy of Totana Foundation and the Association of the Virgin and Martyr Santa Eulalia Merida.
This act comes in response to a trip composed of about 90 people totanera delegation held in September last year to Merida, coinciding with the celebration of Trecenario in honor of the patron of both towns, Santa Eulalia.
The delegation will emeritense an official reception in the sanctuary (9:30 am), Mass in the shrine of the patron officiated by priests Diego Garcia and Jose Isidoro Ruiz (10:00 hours), visit to the sanctuary environment (11:00 hours), visit to La Bastida (12:00), fellowship meal (14:00), visit the Heart of Jesus (17:00), visit Santiago parish church (18:00), institutional reception ( 19:00) and board meeting of the Association and Board of Trustees (20:00).
Extremadura representation is made up of about 30 people, who will be welcomed by local authorities and employers of the Holy Foundation of Totana, an organization that promotes eulaliense worship and the preservation of heritage, environment and customs around the figure of the patron saint of Totana.
Extremadura pilgrimage was organized by the Association of virgin and martyr Santa Eulalia de Merida, within a cultural and tourist trip to the Murcia region and the cities of Granada and Toledo during the bridge of the Pilar festival, and since both cities have are twinned since 2003.
Totana addition to Mérida, who have in common the figure of Santa Eulalia as patron, is twinned with the town of Kalocsa (Hungary) and Uchaud (France), respectively.
