A total of eight university volunteers from the University of Murcia (UMU) participated this year in the program called "Strengthening Education", held in this city for the third consecutive year, to help a total of 45 school colleges Totana found sociocultural disadvantage.

This initiative was developed under the collaboration agreement between the Service for Diversity and Volunteer of the UMU and Totana Town Council, giving each volunteer reinforcement two days a week for 1.5 hours each day.
Acting councilors of Education, Josefa Maria Sanchez, and Youth, Bartholomew Pallares, thanked the staff work each university students have done with students in third through sixth years of primary education in different schools.
This project has been aimed at strengthening educational processes to promote personal and social development of children, especially those who are in disadvantaged situations.
Thus, according to municipal officials they pointed with these pedagogical actions will prevent and reduce problems of failure, absenteeism and early school leaving.
Thus, it performs a complementary intervention to the school, from a conception of coordinated work among different social actors involved in the educational process of children and young people to whom this project.
The university voluntary participants in this course have been Anabel 2014/15 Miras Garcia Paula Rosalia Aznar, Elena Canovas Burgos, Paula Nunez Victoria, Lorena Javaloy Egea, Laura and Maria Inmaculada García Martínez Soriano López.
