Friday June 5, coinciding with the celebration of World Environment Day, the school Deitania Totana opened to show the educational community the result of environment environmental project "The organic garden as a way to raise awareness with the environment "that is being developed in the center.
This activity took place between 13 and 14 h., In order to facilitate the attendance of parents.
The main objective was to inform families ecological school garden that students and teachers have built (with the almost exclusive use of recycled materials) in the school, as well as exposing some of the educational activities have been developed in the last month, taking the school garden as a fundamental basis.
The initiative was well received and led to the exchange of views, ideas and experiences and for next year to come we will complement and enhance what has been developed so far.
This idea came from a group of teachers sensitized to the prospect of urban and technological society that is not fully able to convey to students in the throes of mental, physical and social growth a number of issues: the tradition involved in our society (especially in our area), the benefits of a healthy food based on natural products can have on their health, valuation of agricultural production in all its dimensions, basic knowledge of agricultural production processes, and Ultimately, everything related to agriculture.
Thus, and included within the educational work itself and reflected in the General Programming Center are developing a series of eminently practical actions in which students experience firsthand all stages of agricultural production with different products.
These activities and experiences will be consolidated, extending and diversifying over the next courses in view of the success in the educational community and the degree of achievement of the objectives.
