"Wait, feel, die" Recital of Baroque music by the totanero Pedro Pérez (17/04/2015)

Tonight, at 20:30 h., Pedro Pérez (countertenor) and Ignacio Portillo (lute and baroque guitar) give a recital in the auditorium of the Conservatory of Music in Cartagena (c / Antonio Lauret, No. 4) .

The program, under the title "Wait, feel, die", consists of love songs from three different countries-Spain, England and Italy and it was heard last November in the II Festival of Early Music and Baroque Lorca.

In Spain may hear some of the "human tones" (secular songs) of the Madrid Juan Hidalgo (1614 1685), whose birth was recently commemorated the centenary IV.

Interspersed in the program may hear the Pavanas instrumental pieces by the D with items at Ayre Spanish (G. Sanz) and Sir John Smith His Almain (J. Dowland), interpreted in the baroque guitar and lute, respectively.

Pedro Pérez (Totana, 1981) is professor of singing at the School of Dramatic Arts (ESAD) of Murcia and freelance musician.

He has an MA in Teaching of Music from the University of Murcia and has participated as a speaker at seminars and courses, and works as a vocal coach in musical productions "The Wizard of Oz" and "Alice in Wonderland" directed by César Oliva for Teatro Circo de Murcia.

He studied flute and singing at the Conservatory "Oscar Esplá" of Alicante, finishing his studies with Extraordinary Thesis Award.

She has performed with groups like Al Ayre Spanish, La Danserye, La Lyra Hispana, Orquesta Sinfónica de Murcia and Cartagena City Orchestra.

In 2002 he released the "Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ according to John" Juan Miguel Murani, and in 2010 the chamber opera "veiled Landscapes" by Javier Garrido and Irene P. Oliva.

Since 2000 he is director of the group Vox Musicalis of Totana.

Soon will be seen in the documentary "Rito, sound and space: the music in Hispanic cathedrals", filmed by the University of Jaén.

Ignacio Portillo studied guitar at the Conservatory of Murcia.

He has received acting lessons from Jorge Fresno, Joe Pass, José Tomás, Jose Miguel Moreno, Juan Carlos de Mulder, Paula Chateneauf, Hopkinson Smith, John Griffiths, Emilio Moreno, Lorenzo Coppola, etc.

Since 1993 he has been Professor of Guitar at the Conservatory "Narciso Yepes" of Lorca (Murcia) and since 2006 at the Conservatory of Music of Murcia.

The environments related to the historical interpretation of the music of the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries led him to become interested since 1996 in this aspect of musical performance with the baroque guitar and theorbo as accompanying instruments and basso continuo often participating in choirs and chamber as "affecti Armonici", "Ars Musica", "Capella Saetabis" with which he recorded the CD "Mestres of Capella of Collegiate Xativa", "La Lyra Hispana", "The Danserye", with which he has recorded for TVE and other televisions.
