The Association of Relatives and Affected lipodystrophy (AELIP), internationally entity that brings together people from Spain, Europe and Latin America, has organized various activities to mark the World Day of lipodystrophy, which falls on March 31.
Lipodystrophies are a group of diseases characterized by loss of adipose tissue (fat) diseases.
As a result, patients often have metabolic disorders that increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, among other complications.
Thus, in the framework of the World Day, AELIP has prepared several events to give visibility to the lipodystrophy.
The president of the association, Naca Perez de Tudela, presented the program of activities, accompanied by other members of the board of this entity, and the councilman of Social Services of the City of Totana, Josefa María Sánchez,
The program of activities includes next Sunday, March 22, a popular walk in Totana, which will start at 10 am from the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja to travel 6.2 miles.
Moreover, the central action revolves around reading the Manifesto of the World Day of lipodystrophy, which will take place on March 24 in the school "La Milagrosa" from Totana, and collecting various points through which analyze the needs of this group.
One of the highlights is the promotion and dissemination of the World Register of lipodystrophy, Lipodistrophy Connect through different institutions and health authorities.
The March 26 will be discussed in the full City Council of Totana a motion of support for the celebration of World Day of lipodystrophy.
On Saturday 28 BalsaVieja the square of this town will host the evening by Lipodystrophies at 20:00, where you can collaborate by purchasing candles for two euros.
It will feature the collaboration of Illustrious Cabildo Processions Superior de Totana.
On March 31 there will be a Day for World Day of lipodystrophy in the University Hospital of Santiago de Compostela, with presentations by experts in the field and testimonies of people affected, which will discuss, among other issues, present and future of lipodystrophy uncommon in Spain and Europe.
The April 6 visibility action will take place in the party that held El Pozo Murcia Murcia futsal.
In addition, on April 11 there will be an activity of Biodanza for lipodystrophies at eleven o'clock in the premises of the Convent of the Capuchin Fathers of Totana, while the April 18 there will be a workshop Risoterapia at eleven o'clock in the Multidisciplinary Center "Celia Carrión Pérez de Tudela" subject to prior registration.
Finally, it is noteworthy that the May 23 the tenth National Lottery will be dedicated to the commemoration of the International Day of lipodystrophy 2015.
The president of AELIP encouraged to participate in the various activities that are planned to give visibility and bring the reality of the population lipodystrophy.
