The Department of Culture pays homage to Mercedes Salisachs (21/05/2014)

The Department of Culture honors the work of the recently deceased Mercedes Salisachs reserving a space in the library for the work of the Spanish author.

Wrote some romantic stories during his teens, although his first published novel-in which was not retracted, "First morning, late morning" (1955), who wrote under the pseudonym Mary ECIN.

In 1956, Barcelona won the City Award for her work "A woman comes to town" in 1983 he won the prize with Ateneo de Sevilla "The volume of absence" and in 2004 Fernando Lara prize with "The Last Labyrinth".

It also has to his credit with the "Grand Cross of Alfonso X the Wise" (1999).

With twenty grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren, has also been important their contribution to children's literature.
