Municipal groups debate about the economic and financial situation of the City Council during the extraordinary plenary session (03/10/2013)

The three municipal groups discussed today about the economic and financial situation of the City of Totana in the course of an extraordinary plenary session, in which appeared the council of finance, María José Baeza, to account for its actions in the past two years and environment in the municipal area.

The session was held at the request of opposition groups, who last August 23 requested the convening of this plenary to discuss this matter.

The PSOE and IU groups had asked the relevant municipal reports for the current debt with the Ministry of Finance contracted under three provider payment plans promoted by the Government of the Nation, and the relationship of the Consistory suppliers was included in the final payment plan.

They also requested information regarding outstanding bills not covered by third provider payment plan, similarly financial debt than on long and short term, with a breakdown of banks and interest rates.

Furthermore, it had asked the relevant technical reports about the debt owed by the consistory with the Commonwealth totanero Taibilla Channel, Social Security, the Tax and Iberdrola.

Furthermore, the aforementioned local groups had been interested in the amounts received by the City in respect of capital gains from planning agreements signed since 2003 to the present, as well as formalized by Urbaser debt or any of the subsidiaries that had the grant from the Municipal Water.

The various municipal spokesmen have made in two speaking slots, a balance of municipal accounts according to their political interpretation of the documentation obtained in accordance with the Rules of Organization and Operation of City Hall.

In this regard, the Councillor of Finance has set the current municipal debt by 94 million euros, against 146 million euros for encrypting the PSOE and IU groups.

The mayor added that spending has been reduced in this term at 7 million euros and reported that the budget has been reduced by 50% compared to 2007, and continued working with municipal budget was comparable to that for twelve years, more than 20 million euros.

Meanwhile, opposition groups have argued that Plan Provider Payment has doubled municipal debt, while the council has argued that the implementation of this program offered by the Ministry of Finance, the interest is 5.9%.
