Successfully Concluded youth initiative "Help, I want to be digital!" (06/08/2013)

A group of 15 students from the IES "Prado Mayor" and "Juan de la Cierva and Codorniú" Totana, led by youth correspondents, participated in the "HELP, I want to be digital", with which it was intended promote the appropriate use of information technologies and has helped to launch a School of Trainers that focuses on adult education in new technologies, and especially social networks.

This project is a youth initiative funded by the program "Youth in Action" and is a non-formal education action pursuing responsible and respectful transmit values ​​to the use of new technologies, thus contributing to the formation of its participants, as young citizens critical and participatory.

The youth have had the support of the National Association "Protégeles", which is the National Center for Internet Security, and has facilitated the training of these children to work with information and prevention to schools and AMPAS, facilitating and the intergenerational encounter and enabling the "digital natives" discover their employability in the field of new dry tecnologías.La Sociocultural Association is the promoter who has represented youth and together with the City Informajoven Totana, advised on the preparation and presentation of the project to the National Agency for Youth in Action.

For four months, the dry and Totana Informajoven have accompanied young and have gotten this experience involves a learning experience for them in the management of a program of activities designed for themselves, and they have developed skills related with communication, teamwork, decision-making and leadership as levers to a social commitment in the area of ​​new technologies.

The objectives raised in this youth initiative have been basically encourage young people to think about their potential employability in the area of ​​new technologies and involve them in the debate on intergenerational learning as well as learning to participate in European politics ICT .

Was performed using an active and participative methodology in which participants were responsible for their own learning (self-education) receive support from adults in proportion to their needs (progressive system).

Spaces have also been provided to promote coexistence, critical thinking, decision making, accountability, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

The program of work has been varied working methods, and is designed as correspondents to ensure the best possible learning outcomes (workshops, discussion groups, group work sessions tutored by expert, talks in schools parents, schools, etc.).

The two participating HEIs have been worth the Youth Correspondents Program as a platform from which children can create and manage their activities and work in European projects.

Parents and adults generally involved have had the opportunity to meet a non-formal educational experience from which children have formed and have trained others in new technologies, encouraging their personal development and their participation in local community.
