The Department of Education, in coordination with the schools where they taught Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO), is developing a program of talks on the Failure and Truancy aimed at students of 1st ESO.
These talks have been given, from mid-February to mid-April, Truancy Technical Council of Totana and an agent of the local police.
Not only is the task of education professionals work to control absenteeism, but that the local police is also part of this team to have as one of its objectives to identify pupils of compulsory school age are not in school where they are enrolled, within the established school.
Totana City Council, through the Department of Education, has been aware for years of the importance of preventing truancy and recover students who leave the education system without obtaining the minimum qualifications of the ESO.
That is why, as a preventive measure, organize these talks aimed primarily at students of this course of ESO, where it has been detected the highest number of possible absentees.
Centers that have provided the talks have been "La Milagrosa", "Reina Sofía", "Guadalentin" IES "Prado Mayor" and IES "Juan de la Cierva" participating about 15 classes and a total of about 400 students.
According to sources from the Department of Education, is intended, concern and one of the objectives of this department to continue this task of prevention and collaboration with the centers that produce increased absenteeism, and coordination with the various centers where cases appear absenteeism, especially prevention work from 6 years and even in the infant stage.
