The Department of Social Services reported that in 2012 the Center for Early Child Development and has served approximately, about 130 children aged 0-6 years and their families.
This center of public and municipal serving the township children who have difficulties in their development, in many cases these difficulties are mild or transient, while on other occasions are permanent difficulties.
The care team is interdisciplinary and consists of: physical therapist, speech therapist, psychologist and social worker, whose financing is funded largely by contributions from the CARM.
The range of situations addressed is quite broad: language difficulties, delayed motor acquisitions, deficits in cognitive development, family problems, etc..
Sources of this Council highlight the high degree of knowledge of EI among professionals working with this age: doctors (pediatricians and specialists), teachers, social workers, among others.
They also highlight the close coordination of the environmental resource center; Educational Guidance Team, schools, health services and social services
Remarkably, this year the Early Childhood Center has been recognized for its work through 2012 awards, given annually by the Association D'Genes in Totana.
