The city of Totana is adorned with Christmas ornaments and Easter flower arrangements for Christmas and Reyes.
In total it will put more than 400 ornamental plants in public spaces such as parks and gardens, and the busiest places these days.
Employees of the Department of City Services are working to overhaul the city to plant regeneration and intensive cleaning of public places more walkable during these next few days.
The City Council has removed this year Totana road lighting on the occasion of the celebrations of Christmas in order to achieve a saving of over € 20,000 for the rental of the ornaments, the work placement and removal and consumption.
Traditionally, road lighting was installed in early December, a few days before the celebration of the patron saint festivities of Santa Eulalia, and remained throughout the month of December, coinciding with the Christmas and Epiphany, so that retired after celebration of the patron saint back to his sanctuary.
The lights were placed ornaments on the street General Aznar, Lorca Avenue, Constitution Square, Bridge Street and San Antonio and Santa Eulalia Avenue, Plaza Juan XXIII and in the hamlet of El Paretón.
This year only a few simple ornaments placed with low energy lights in the trees of the squares of the Constitution and Balsa Vieja to acclimate the historic center environment comprising the parish of Santiago and the town hall.
These small lights are placed with their own material without resorting to rent lighting arches, and the work will be executed by municipal workers
Thus, the Consistory also joins an initiative promoted by many Spanish municipalities within the savings plan and municipal sanitation.
