Some 300 secondary school students Totana have received training in drug prevention during the year 2012 (08/08/2012)

Some 300 secondary school students of different schools of Totana have received training in drug prevention in the first half of 2012, according to sources of Councillors for Social Care and Education, respectively.

The City's drug dependency has developed several activities this semester, including most notably the drug prevention workshops aimed at students of secondary school.

Every year, these workshops have been held in schools in Totana and in this edition, it has also had the collaboration of local police.

They have addressed issues primarily alcohol and cannabis, as these drugs most consumed among adolescents.

Furthermore, explained how these and other drugs affect the body, the family and social environment, and what can be the medium-and long-term consumption of these substances.

With these workshops, which will resume next year, is to give objective information and appropriate training on the implications of the use and abuse of drugs and the acquisition of skills, competencies and skills to effectively address the same.

Also, there have been awareness campaigns on drugs, including the World Day campaign against Snuff.

This year focused on the need to expose and counter attempts increasingly brazen and aggressive tobacco industry to undermine the Framework Convention for the Control of Snuff the World Health Organization because of the grave dangers they pose to public health.

Sources from the Department reminded that the consumption of snuff is one of the leading preventable causes of death.

The global tobacco epidemic kills nearly 6 million people each year, of which over 600,000 are non-smokers exposed to tobacco snuff others.

Unless action is taken, as reported, the snuff will kill up to 8 million people in 2030, of which over 80% live in low and middle income countries.

He has worked in the piloting and implementation of the program Program Information System (SIP), a project designed for the evaluation and management of Drug Addiction Prevention Programs in the region.
