Totana City Council, through the Municipal Service for Prevention of Drug Addiction of the Department of Social Services, supports the campaign against Snuff Day, celebrated today May 31 with the theme of work is "The industry interference tobacco "

The campaign focuses on the need to expose and counter attempts increasingly brazen and aggressive tobacco industry to undermine the Framework Convention for the Control of Snuff the World Health Organization because of the grave dangers they pose to public health.

Sources from the Department reminded that the consumption of snuff is one of the leading preventable causes of death.

The global tobacco epidemic kills nearly 6 million people each year, of which over 600,000 are non-smokers exposed to tobacco snuff others.
