COATO launches three new oil crop varieties of the past (13/05/2012)

COATO presented on May 9 as part of the same drawing room of his mill, three new varietal oils Campaign 2011: a variety hojiblanca eológico, another variety Arbequino organic cold-pressed and finally one of cornicabra variety.

At the presentation ceremony attended by some 50 people, restaurateurs and managers in the region of COATO, which toured the mill facility to remember the various stages of conversion of the olive oil.

COATO President, Jose Luis Hernandez, welcomed the guests reminding them that this was an act that fell within the scheduled to be held in 2012, commemorating the 33 anniversary of establishment of the company.

While he said that the activity of the mill was started 12 years ago.

To then introduce the two professionals who were going to make the explanation of the characteristics of olive varieties with which they had prepared the oils that were presented today and to lead the tasting of the same by all attendees.

The technical adviser of the Ministry of Agriculture and collaborator COATO Andalusia, Juan Ortiz, reminded participants of the general characteristics of olives and oils that would be presented, while giving an overview of the classification criteria official olive oils according to their organoleptic characteristics.

But it was already the prestigious restaurateur Francisco Fuentes, owner of the iconic Mansion La Seda, which was presented by the President of COATO as a pioneer and a leading promoter of gastronomy, products and culture of Murcia, who was describing, one by one, the three varietal oils were presented (hojiblanca, Arbequino and cornicabra), making a very nice and descriptive tasting, where attendees actively participated, which tasted three oils and even made valuable contributions to the comments of Francisco Fuentes.

The presentation of these varietal oils-an initiative that was hailed as rare and necessary by Francisco Fuentes, who also highlighted the great qualities of oil put-culminated in the delivery of a sample of three new oil to the guests, as well as a wine tasting and various products and processed COATO.
