The Local Government Committee approved the procedure for the election of village headman in Totana and the Local Board of Paretón Neighbours.

Shall be elected village headman of Lebor, Raiguero, La Costera, La Sierra, Morti, The orchards and vineyards-Carivete for the period 2011-2015 by resolution of City Hall and open the procedure for electing members of the Junta Local Residents Paretón for the legislature of 2011-2015.

Totana has a participatory structure that enables the active participation of residents in different areas of municipal management.

Among the organs that make up this structure highlights the participatory municipal body headman Board Citizen Participation on districts involving municipal officials and the eight village headman who ensure the protection of the interests of the residents of each of the districts , and transmit them to the municipal government.

Also in the hamlet of Paretón sets the Local Neighborhood Board constituted as a body Paretón Neighborhood Involvement by the village headman Integrated and eight members elected by open list system, which will channel the aspirations and proposals of the residents of the hamlet to City Hall.

The election in the Paretón be done through the open list system and the deadline for nominations is established from 15 to 30 September.

Candidates wishing to stand must be registered or to be resident in the district before the nomination period and do it by request through the Citizen Service, addressed to the Department of Citizen Participation enclosing a photocopy of the DNI.

Be maintained with all candidates for membership of the Local Residents to explain the election process that will take place and establish the timing of it.

Exercise their right to vote, those elderly residents, registered voters / residents in the area before the opening of the nomination period.

Each resident may bring into the names of one to three candidates.

The most voted candidate will hold the post of village headman and the rest will be vocal in order according to the number of votes obtained.
