The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, and the Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez, will open next August 23 at 10:00 hours, the new Tertiary Treatment System for Wastewater Treatment Municipal Wastewater Totana, located beside the old road to El Paretón-RM-315 - in the vicinity of the cooperative "Horfrusa."
This infrastructure provides treatment and a higher than required by EU guidelines, and will optimize the degree of purification of water, which puts the municipality at the forefront of treatment and reuse of wastewater.
The plant will increase its capacity to treat wastewater by 50 percent, from 6,000 cubic meters per day to 9,000, representing the recovery of an annual volume of more than three hectometres.
This work, along with the sanitation collector "Totana-South" and has come to bid a few weeks ago in the village of Lebor, will try almost one hundred percent of municipal wastewater to be reused by farmers to watering the field, thanks to the invaluable contribution of the region.
The councilor expressed his satisfaction that in recent years the city of Totana and the Autonomous Region jointly invested 12 million euros in water infrastructure in this municipality.
