The Mayor and the Director General of Water visit the redevelopment of the Treatment Station Totana (02/08/2011)

The Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez, and the CEO Water Michelangelo Rodenas, today visited the redevelopment of the tertiary sector the Ministry of Agriculture and Water is running at Station Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Totana and the land will be built manifold sanitation "Totana-South" in the hamlet of Lebor.

The collector south, 5.1 kilometers, will connect the general emissary of Totana Station Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), and collect the wastewater generated in the south and the deputation of Lebor.

This action will allow the attack to the network of some 3,500 inhabitants, households, industries and commercial installations and service throughout the area.

Rodenas said that this action is part of the General Plan of cleansing and purifying of the Region of Murcia, and added that the construction of this manifold is a step in the progress undertaken by the regional government to improve services provided to population.

In relation to the works of WWTP tertiary treatment of Totana, which were awarded last February and will be inaugurated soon, are funded by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union, and came to contracting with a budget of over two million euros.

Totana Mayor has stressed that exemplary infrastructure and waste water reuse due to the strong support of the Autonomous Community, which, as usual, is committed to the municipality invests in infrastructure and services to improve the lives of neighbors same.

The plant will increase its capacity to treat wastewater by 50 percent, from 6,000 cubic meters per day to 9,000, representing the recovery of an annual volume of more than three hectometres.

They insisted that the Ministry of Agriculture and Water will invest in two projects (Lebor and collector of WWTP tertiary sector) almost 10 million euros, in addition to works already undertaken, such as the construction of the shell of the Vines of more than 900,000 euros.

Also agreed that these two projects by nearly one hundred percent of municipal wastewater will be treated to be used by farmers to irrigate the field.

Finally, you expressed satisfaction that in recent years the city of Totana and the Autonomous Community has invested more than EUR 12 million in water infrastructure.
