300 people will get the medal and a diploma Santa Eulalia pilgrim (24/11/2010)

A total of 300 people will get the Santa Eulalia medal and a diploma of "pilgrim" if they participate in the inauguration of the Ecotourism Path that links the center of the town of Totana to the sanctuary of Santa.

This initiative, launched under the slogan "I ecotourism route Pilgrimage The Holy" has been driven by the Department of Tourism and Sports, with the indispensable collaboration of the Department of Planning and Development and is framed as a new activity in the program of festivities in honor of Santa Eulalia.

The Councillor of Tourism, Maria Isabel Sánchez Ruíz, explained, along with the mayor of Sports, José Antonio Valverde Queen, that the opening of this route will take place on Sunday 5 December and depart from the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja to the shrine La Santa.

This route has been designed and developed by Planning and Sustainable Development by a grant of 30,000 euros by the Directorate General of Tourism and Commerce and the municipal contribution of 10,000 euros.

The mayor of Tourism has indicated that it is a path of ascent to the Holy by parkland avoiding asphalt in which were also installed access walks and recreation areas where hikers can take a break.

The Minister pointed out that a quarter of ecotourism routes that exist in the Region of Murcia and that through this initiative promotes sustainable tourism and offering alternative sustainable supply and alternative.

For his part, Councillor for Sports explained that there is no need to register to participate in the route, which is 7.5 miles and of medium difficulty, so that you can not travel with baby strollers.

It has also indicated that the release is planned on the nine o'clock on Sunday, 5 from the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja and that on reaching the sanctuary, about two hours later, the participants will be given a medal of Santa Eulalia diploma.

In addition, to regain strength, as indicated by the mayor, has prepared a fruit and water supplies in the Sanctuary.

Each participant will receive a ticket to be exchanged for the medal, diploma and free return bus to Totana.

Two separate municipal officials have encouraged residents of Totana to encourage them to participate in this trade, because "it is a route you run a few feet down the road, well signposted and recreational areas where you can enjoy the beauty of our landscapes "
