Monday at 16h in the Ministry of Public Works held a rally in support of the associative movement of people with physical and organic

On the occasion of the Assembly which will elect the representatives of the associations in the Regional Advisory Council for Persons with Disabilities Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration, to be held on Monday, November 22 by Later in the Ministry of Public Works and Planning located in Plaza de Santoña, took out a show of support to the group of organic and physical disability in the Region of Murcia.

This event aims to highlight the opposition of people with disabilities and their families to the approval of the budgetary allocations FAMDIF / COCEMFE and their associations in the draft Budget Act for the Autonomous Community of 2011, as it contains a 82% reduction in the nominative to FAMDIF budget, from € 829,423.00 to € 156,500.00, in addition to the disappearance of funds intended for regular and individualized assistance for persons with disabilities in our region that last year had an allocation of € 900,000.00 and € 760,000.00 respectively.

The significant reduction in the budget provided for the maintenance of the names of the entities of physical disability and organic, if approved, would entail the abolition of the services provided to people with physical and organic in our region, dismissal more than 90 professionals, the closure of our partnerships and the disappearance of associations of persons with physical disabilities and organs of our Community has a history of more than 30 years.

Statements by the Council stating that disability is covered in the budget, does confuse the public opinion as to what is actually meant is the "dependency", forgetting, therefore, that there are many people with disabilities organic and physical need of other services and benefits to ensure their "independence and personal autonomy."
