The Department of New Technologies will file a motion in Parliament for the month of October that will encourage the General Directorate of Telecommunication and Information Society to develop as quickly as possible appropriate actions to solve the problems in the municipality the reception of Digital Television Terreste.
The municipal council of the area, Juan Carrion, recalled that last April was held the end of television broadcasts with analog technology and its total replacement by digital broadcasts.
Since August, when configuration changes were made in the DTT transmitting equipment to add new channels, there have been failures in the signal coverage throughout the county, with special emphasis on private television.
Carrion explained that in this situation the Municipal Service of New Technologies has developed since that time various actions and efforts with the Directorate General of Telecommunication and Information Society in order to remedy these shortcomings.
The mayor has indicated that although the regional technical agency said from the outset that these problems would be solved soon, "through the development of a work that was completed in early September," so far not been solved.
At that time, according to Carrión, the Directorate General argued that such problems were only in certain households given the poor facilities carried out by low-skilled professionals and not so authorized.
Faced with this problem, we studied the case by the municipal service and found that the problems were not due to these causes or were restricted to a specific area of the municipality, there is a significant number of people with problems to receive the DTT signal correctly.
The mayor explained that the Directorate General of Telecommunications has conducted the work with the installation company, but so far has not solved the smooth running of the reception of DTT.
