The Department of Social Welfare and Civic Participation presented a motion in Parliament to be held on Thursday 29 July, to support the candidacy of Nobel Peace Prize to the Fundación Vicente Ferrer, to publicly acknowledge her figure and work and the defense of the underprivileged, their struggle against poverty and inequality and human rights in the world.

Also, through this proposal, the Consistory aims to promote and adhere to the candidacy of Vicente Ferrer Foundation for the Nobel Peace Prize than international award in recognition of his work and encourage deserving institutions, organizations and citizens Totana to join this request.

The mayor of the field, Juan Carrion, recently recalled that "we have suffered the loss of Vicente Ferrer, founder and head of the Foundation of the same name, which has helped to eradicate poverty and discrimination in some of the most discriminated against communities within the Hindu caste system.
