The City Council of Totana projected area of orchards as a benchmark for training young artists in the region of Murcia, as reported by the Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, who has said that this initiative comes after a meeting recently with Minister of Culture, Pedro Alberto Cruz, in order to address several projects in this area related to this county.
These projects include the internationalization strategy Totana culturally as a tourist attraction by two events which will promote activities on the surrounding landscape of the area of orchards, the initiative aimed MUHER, international artists based in Totana
In addition, it will conduct a technical program to establish in this city annually about Contemporary Art Workshop, which will convene artists, art students from the region, national and world who come to the residence to receive lectures and develop a work shop about the landscape totanero.
Subsequently, these works could expose the public used to this end, the symbolic headquarters of the Garden of the Cross and its gardens, which serve as a continent to an extensive program of activities during the month long workshop.
As explained by the ruler, this initiative will be released internationally on natural environment of Totana, their gardens, attractions and scenic spots generally viewed by students, professionals and other artists who wish to participate in these workshops landscape research.
Similarly, it intends to carry out the program to be a Water Biennale of Modern Art, artistic expression installations, sculpture and visual art abroad, which would deal on the issue of water in several strategic places of interest picturesque, landscaped gardens and cultural totaneros.
In this regard, according to Martínez Andreo, between twenty and thirty artists and relevant international experience could visit Totana to install on this tour a work that remained exposed for two months.
This exhibition will allow Totana become cultural center during this period and make known the wonders of place, and the need for water in the Murcia region, not only professionals in the cultural world, but the general public.
