Totana hosted the 1st Regional Conference of School Sports Chess (02/02/2018)

The Exhibition Hall "Gregorio Cebrián" hosted on Saturday January 27 the 1st Regional School Sports Chess Conference, organized by the General Directorate of Sports of the Region of Murcia and the Department of Sports of the City of Totana, where 187 participated schoolchildren from all points of the Region of Murcia, belonging to the categories Alevín and Open.

In addition, we must highlight the participation totanera, with a total of 15 school children from the schools of "Santiago", "La Cruz", "Reina Sofía", IES "Juan de la Cierva" and "Prado Mayor".

In the juvenile category, Francisco López Martínez (La Cruz) obtained the best result, finishing in the tenth position of the provisional classification, while Joel Encalada Andreo and Juan Andreo Cánovas, both of the Santiago School, finished in the 29th and 30th positions.

Regarding the Open category, the best result was recorded by Joaquín Cánovas López (Juan de la Cierva), in the 12th place, while Juan Jesús López Martínez and Raúl García Gea, also from the same school, finished in the positions 20 ° and 27 ° respectively.

In this first regional day the first five rounds were disputed, and the five remaining rounds will be completed in the Regional Chess Final of School Sports, which will also take place in the "Gregorio Cebrián" Exhibition Hall, on Saturday, February 17.
