The Commonwealth of Sierra Espuña is integrated by the six municipalities grouped in the environment of the natural park, in this case, the municipalities of Aledo, Alhama de Murcia, Librilla, Mula, Pliego and Totana.

In addition, within the framework of presentations of the stand of the Region of Murcia in FITUR, the Commonwealth of Tourism Services of Sierra Espuña also gave a new edition of the aforementioned International Festival of Ancient Music of Sierra Espuña, which will be held next summer, with the celebration of dozens of concerts distributed in squares, archaeological ruins and natural corners and monuments of the whole region.

The "Territorio Sierra Espuña", the name by which this Murcian ecotourism destination is made known, is the result of collaborative work between the administrations and tourist companies of this region.

Since 2010, the municipalities involved have been working hand in hand with the managers of the natural area and with the Tourism Institute to implement participatory work methodologies with the different social and economic groups linked to tourism.

The year 2017 marked the beginning of a new period in which the local administrations and the Autonomous Community have assumed the execution of an action plan consisting of 78 concrete actions aimed at achieving a sustainable tourism destination and improving the offer that the territory offers to the visitor.

Among these actions, the Mancomunidad and the town councils committed to create a joint cultural offer and connect their municipalities with attractive activities that suppose an engine of regional development;

and in this context the Antigua Music Festival of Sierra Espuña was born.

Its germ emerged from the "Early Music Aledo" in the summer of 2016, an event that brought ancient music to different places of this municipality, combining nature and music with the development of informative activities.

During July 2017, as a renewed version of the "Early Music Aledo", the festival grew and the locations of the concerts were dispersed by the municipalities of the Sierra Espuña Commonwealth reaching natural sites and emblematic monuments of the region.

In 2018, the Commonwealth wants to support this initiative of the "Early Music" platform and launch it as one of the great regional festivals, held from July 18 to 28 in these municipalities.

Its main purpose is to disseminate and disseminate ancient music in combination with recreational activities in privileged environments to allow the discovery of unique spaces by viewers.

The festival will offer concerts of great figures of ancient music and is also complemented by a space for the visualization of young talent thanks to the teaching of master classes to students from all over the world who will participate in the festival with their own performances.

The concerts will be held in churches, museums, parks and natural spaces, surrounded by an unrepeatable cultural and natural environment.

In addition, they will also carry out informative activities of introduction to ancient music for adults and workshops for children, as well as other activities focused on the discovery of the "Territorio Sierra Espuña", with different routes and meetings with artisans from the area. .

The organization is also working on setting up tourist packages that include accommodation, gastronomy and activities to discover the region that will be aimed at lovers of music and nature.

The "Territorio Sierra Espuña" is a unique scenario for the practice of nature tourism and offers a wide range of activities, such as hiking, paragliding, climbing, cycling routes, among others;

and it is completed with a destination offer with its cultural, museum, monumental and archaeological diversity.
