It has been longer than we would like, but today we can finally give light to this new associative project in Totana (Murcia), called "El Algarrobo Kolectiv"
El Algarrobo is born from the need to generate a common response to the current situation of our society.
A response based on solidarity, commitment and joy, because with joy "you can only win".
We bet on citizen participation as a tool of empowerment and equity, since we believe that in the organization of the people to respond to the problems that we face daily.
We dream of a different, more egalitarian and more just society.
For this reason we believe it necessary to create an associative space such as "El Algarrobo" to begin to create an engine that promotes real alternatives for people.
Our objective is clear: to generate a transformative dynamic in our people through actions and activities based on solidarity, respect for the environment and the fight for equality in its broadest sense.

Just two months ago we read in some other regional newspaper how the EAPN pointed out that in the Region of Murcia 34.8% of the population is in a situation of poverty and / or social exclusion.
In this way, our region exceeds the national average by 6.9 points and ranks as the fourth highest of all the autonomous communities.
As often happens in most situations of vulnerability, childhood becomes one of the most affected parts in these processes, given their high degree of dependence on other family members.
In Algarrobo Kolectiv we are aware of this reality and although situations of exclusion require coordinated and comprehensive actions, we wanted to start our journey as an association making our small contribution this Christmas.
Understanding that, in addition to being a date marked by consumerism and waste, Christmas maintains a component of illusion and fantasy on the part of a large part of the population that should not be affected by economic issues.
In this way, from Algarrobo Kolectiv we have organized a collection of solidary toys so that the human part that still resides in our Christmas idea comes loaded with joy to the house of all the families of our town.
For a life and a worthy Christmas.
