The regional and municipal officials learned first-hand about the school's facilities and the working procedure that has been carried out by the educational community for the beginning of the new school year, which began today.
In addition, those in charge of the management team, with its director in charge, María José Moreno, have reported on the priorities and main demands and needs that the center has for this new stage;
and have explained the programs of educational innovation that have been carried out in recent years in the school.
In Totana, a total of 3,711 pupils of Early Childhood and Primary Education began the school year 2017/2018 with normality in the eleven schools of the municipality.
Of these, 1,140 students were enrolled in Early Childhood Education and 2,573 were enrolled in Primary Education courses.

and stressed that collaboration between administrations, in this case, the Ministry and Consistory is "fundamental" to respond as much as possible to educational communities.
The mayor, who met last August 28 with the heads of the Ministry of Education, explained that the course has started "normally" in the schools of the municipality and took the opportunity to remind the director general the main needs which have the centers of Totana, mainly, the oldest.
In this regard, she said that "we are going to be demanding with the Ministry" and stressed the degree of "receptivity" that counselor Adela Martinez-Cachá had two weeks ago when, together with the mayor Eulalia Moreno, met to transfer the priorities she has the municipality in educational matters.
Totana teaches Early Childhood and Primary Education in schools "Santa Eulalia", "Santiago", "Comarcal-Deitania", "Luis Pérez Rueda", "Tierno Galván", "San José", "La Cruz", "Reina Sofía", "La Milagrosa", "Guadalentín" in El Paretón and the one in Lébor.
On the other hand, in compulsory secondary education (ESO) and Bachillerato as well as Adult Education, the start will be on September 18 and Vocational Training will start on September 25.
In all of the teachings the end of course date would be June 22, 2018.
The first mayor also recalled that the Department of Works and Infrastructures of the City of Totana has undertaken during this summer numerous urgent actions in various schools of Early Childhood and Primary Totana taking advantage of the summer school holidays, in order that they were completed before today on the occasion of the beginning of the 2017/2018 school year.
The works have basically been conditioning and improvement of infrastructures in classrooms and toilets, responding to the demands transferred to the Consistory totanero at the end of last year by the educational communities of schools.
In addition, there has been an important action against the thermal stress in the CEIP "Tierno Galván", consisting of opening ventilation in the roof of the building.
In CEIP "Comarcal" has been placed the placement of the new floor in a bathroom that was requested, as well as the change of about 150 meters of fence.
Likewise, a wall has been erected in about fifty meters of perimeter of the school, and has cemented an area of the children's playground because the school wants to put a children's playground, whose cost will be assumed by the school itself, between other connections in other schools in the municipality.
