Press the Popular Party, in relation to the event held today, 23 October, at the initiative of the government team Consistory of Totana, in tribute to the memory of those killed in October 1939 in the southern wall of the municipal cemetery.

Without wishing to create a debate, which separates more than about citizenship, and with absolute respect for the victims and families, both from one side and another, of what happened more than 76 years ago as a result of the fratricidal and infastuosa Spanish Civil War, the Municipal Group wishes to express the following:

The Historical Memory Law, adopted in 2007, aimed as its articles says, "to recognize the rights in favor of those who suffered persecution or violence for political, ideological or religious belief reasons", with the fundamental idea, to repair the dignity of victims on both sides.

Several years ago, the absurdity and opportunism, has been imposed on the democratic exercise of constructive criticism, removing a past history, looking to open wounds that were supposed already closed and generate growing tension and confrontation, instead of looking at a hopeful future and solve the problems of today's society.

If the goal of this law was to reconcile the two Spains, it seems that is generating the opposite and their failure is absolute.

People keep talking about the defenders of freedom and rights by the left, while the right is classified as totalitarian and oppressive, with the sole intention of looking good and bad.

Many of us believe that this situation was settled with the Amnesty Act of 1977 and the Constitution of 1978, and the only thing that has brought this Historical Memory Act of 2007 was an attempt to reopen wounds that had healed the concord will.

Of course we all have the right and why not say the obligation, to find our loved ones and give them a dignified burial, so the Municipal People Totana, respect, how could it be otherwise, any act this regard.

But equally we echo those other people who also could not defend themselves and were killed simply because they belong to a certain wealthy, religious or any other and therefore be considered by unscrupulous and revengeful, as a weed family had to remove, and these also were in our city of Totana, which are not mentioned, because maybe they if they have a headstone or grave, or maybe not, or because perhaps they are not considered for certain groups of advocates freedom.

Lastly, express our deepest sympathy to all families who today pay homage to their families, and to those who are not in the act but who lost their loved ones, whether family or friends, in a step that should to become once and for all settled and closed.
