Through this press release, the Spanish Socialist Workers Party, wants to explain to the public the position taken on the Adjustment Plan presented by the Mayor of Totana Juan Jose Canovas, in the heart of 04.28.2016 .
1.- The PSOE can not approve an adjustment plan that begins to impose on citizens paying the huge debt generated by the Popular Party of Totana, based on raising taxes and privatize public services.
2º.- parties who make up the government team of the City of Totana, would commit an injustice daunting, if we adopted as a solution to the situation of financial collapse that suffers, harassing neighbors elevating the tax burden.
We 3º.- understand that before taking such measures, the easiest to adopt the other hand, we must exhaust the claim and complaint administrations acquiesced and allowed gouge the economic resources of the City of Totana, even to the courts if necessary.
That 4º.- that line search of funding sources, we can not stop trying applying a Rebalancing Plan to return us to a balanced budget positions, not Rebalancing Plan Adjustment, that Law 2/2012 contemplated before an extraordinary emergency situation beyond the control of the city council and jeopardize its economic and social stability.
5º.- that the meeting to be held on May 9 with the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, at the request of members of the PSOE, we must use whatever means may be in our power to defend the legitimate interests of thirty thousand men and women of Totana which, again, do not have to pay the debt free has endorsed the PP
That 6º.- as has been established, who has been the continued disloyalty by its government partners, has been the socialist municipal group in the city council, by ignoring the sake of a more rigorous and transparent policy.
7º.- That in any case, play electoral interests in our position, on the contrary, try to avoid personalities and partisan interests above the interests of the people and, of course, be coherent and consistent with that contained in our election manifesto.
8º.- We want to state that the PSOE presented an alternative plan of adjustment, which was not nearly as burdensome for the economy totaneros.
This plan was rejected by the votes against IU, PP and Citizens.
9.- Finally, we are aware of the responsibility assigned to us citizens, and therefore we will continue to work for the future of Totana through dialogue, understanding and compliance with the electoral commitments and government pact.
