Totana City Council recalled that the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment, in collaboration with the Ministry, is the deadline to seek help open the "Bono-book" for the forthcoming school year 2010/2011, and which can access more than 150,000 students in first through fifth of primary education and all those who attend secondary school.

Families can apply for assistance, until 28 June at the school where their children study.

The Councillor for Education, Trini Cayuela, recalled that this year the Autonomous Region will allocate more than 20 million euros to help families in the purchase of textbooks or other school supplies.

Thus, as noted by the mayor, the Ministry will finance, through the call for aid, free textbooks and supplementary learning materials for these students.

To handle the aid, the Ministry has distributed in schools of primary and secondary forms which parents must apply, as reported by Cayuela, adding that the "Bono-book" may be withdrawn at the school where which students study during the first days of September, to acquire the material in any shop or bookstore in the region.

The amount of the aid amounts to 100 euros for elementary students and 150 euros for the secondary, which may be used in the network of libraries and other establishments participating in this program.

New in this edition, the beneficiaries will have a magnetic stripe card, similar to a credit card that will allow stakeholders to pay the books and school supplies, to the maximum amount of aid granted, without using money cash or a check, as in previous editions.

Each card will have a balance for the amount of aid or the balance after making the buying of books and school supplies.

The Ministry of Education intends, with this new system, simplify the management of aid and facilitate the process for parents as the cards are registered, the name and number of national identification, and can be recharged in successive years.
