Yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 11/11/2020, members of the Platform in defense of the Bastida Project - UAB, met with the Councilor for Culture and Tourism Verónica Carricondo Gázquez, responsible in her area of ??competence for Archaeological Sites, to deliver an alternative proposal for the surveillance of the Archaeological Site of La Bastida.This proposal has been offered by a security company, which after the controversy generated by the government team of our City Council (claiming the cost of security as the cause of the transfer of the archaeological pieces), contacted the Defense Platform of the Bastida - UAB Project to inform them that these surveillance functions could be carried out at a lower cost.In this proposal there are four alternatives with savings of up to 50% with respect to the current cost paid by the Consistory.The document in question has also been delivered to the rest of the political groups represented in the Municipal Council, so that they are aware of the possibilities of quantitatively reducing security spending at the La Bastida Field.With this, from the Platform in defense of the Bastida Project - UAB, we want to emphasize that there are alternatives to continue with the surveillance of the archaeological site of La Bastida, and thus be able to continue with the Archaeological Park and Museum project flagged since the end of 2008 by the members of the team of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
