The Plenary agrees to recognize the work of the Lieutenant of the Civil Guard, Bernardo Vivas, in gratitude for his work during the health crisis caused by COVID-19 (25/09/2020)

The Plenary of the Totana City Council agreed last night, unanimously, the joint motion to publicly recognize the work of the Lieutenant of the Civil Guard of the Totana Barracks, Bernardo Vivas González, who has served in this municipality until last August 31 .The initiative sought to recognize his work and commitment during the time he has held the position of commander of the main position in Totana, thanking his full dedication to the decisive work carried out, together with the agents under his charge, in a unique way in the face of the health crisis of COVID 19 and its collaboration with the City Council; as well as with health and social institutions, Local Police or Civil Protection volunteers.The motion proposed to organize a public act -when the health situation allows it- to acknowledge his work during this time in Totana.Of this agreement, the General Directorate of the Civil Guard, the Ministry of the Interior, the Civil Guard Commanderies in Murcia and Almería and the Government Delegation in Murcia, "showing our institutional will and support to be recognized those merits in their service record or the corresponding professional recognitions ”.A few days ago, Lieutenant Bernardo Vivas was assigned to the Civil Guard Company in the Ejido, ceasing to be the Commander of the Totana Post where he has remained since September 26, 2017.

In a first stage, with graduation Ensign and, as of June 30, 2019, after being promoted to Lieutenant.Bernardo Vivas joined the Civil Guard Corps on September 14, 1995, obtaining the job in July 1998.

He was promoted to sergeant in June 2002, performing the position of Commander of the Post in Banyeres de Mariola (Alicante) and Tabernas ( Almeria).In 2014, he was promoted to Brigade, being appointed Commander of the Post in Carboneras (Almería) where he obtained the rank of Lieutenant in June 2017.After his promotion, he was transferred to Totana where he took command of the Post, as commander in which he was promoted to lieutenant on June 30, 2019.Impeccable military and public service recordDuring his career in the Civil Guard, he has been awarded the Cross of Military Merit with a white badge and the Royal Military Order of San Hermenegildo.During his stay in Totana, Lieutenant Bernardo Vivas has demonstrated his professional worth, effectiveness against crime, collaboration with Justice, respecting fundamental rights and the Municipal Institution and human quality when approaching and solving problems.It is very important to highlight his performance in the face of the COVID 19 pandemic in whose work he gave himself without hours and with total disposition, risking his health and that of his family, as well as the agents under his command, as the Local Police have done and continue o Civil Protection.According to the motion of the Mayor's Office, "sharing these difficult moments with Lieutenant Vivas has shown us his worth and commitment to human values ??and those of the Civil Guard in the most complicated moments in the recent history of Totana."“When our town was confined, he left his vacation to join his position and actively collaborate in the adoption of measures in a flexible way, coordinated in the Monitoring Table of the crisis due to COVID-19, composed of the Local Police Officer, Alfonso Canales, the Security Councilor, Agustín Gonzalo Martínez, the Secretary of the Corporation and the Mayor.
